Senior Analyst, E-Business Job Description Summary As a member of the North American Supply Chain (NASC) E-Business team, the Senior Analyst is responsible for enabling, supporting, increasing, and improving the accuracy of business transactions between internal functions and external trading partners. Internal functions include distribution, transportation, order management, contracting, and credit. External trading partners include distributors, hospitals, IDNs, GPOs, financial institutions, freight forwarders, carriers, and suppliers. The Senior Analyst supports all business units within North America and will work closely with BD's Supply Chain Relations, Channel Management, Customer Experience, and IT (TGS - Technology and Global Service) Teams. The position ensures stakeholders are regularly provided with updates and will continually improve the process for new EDI implementations and issue resolution tracking/reporting. The Senior Analyst plays a lead role on the EDI team by facilitating internal EDI team meetings, driving operational continuous improvement, identifying and addressing knowledge gaps, and mentoring EDI analysts on project work. The Senior Analyst also plays a lead role interacting with external vendors. The position will Lead or participate on projects. Many projects are specific to developing or modifying EDI transaction mapping. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead day-to-day interactions with third-party technology providers, such as the Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX) and is the first point of escalation for third-party technology providers and the E-Business Team. Lead weekly internal team meetings to review status of new EDI implementations and issue resolution. Escalate issues as warranted to the Sr. Manager E-Business. Continually review internal team processes to identify ways of operating more effectively and to resolve if there are training gaps. Develop and maintain support documentation and provide associated training to team members. Prioritize recommended process changes and training needs with the Sr. Manager, E-Business. Participate in and/or lead business projects of varying size that directly impact revenue and the customer experience. Mentor analysts working on projects. New trading partner setup - EDI transaction mapping analysis, system updates (done directly and through TGS/third-party), and testing. Coordinate EDI map updates and new map development - align with Technology and Global Services (TGS) to determine technical requirements based on business need and conduct thorough end-to-end testing, including regression testing. Determine root-cause of EDI transaction errors and take action to resolve and prevent repetitive errors. Generally requires an understanding of the associated business process and collaboration both internally and externally. Promote the use of EDI internal/external to increase the number of purchase orders received electronically. Continually look for opportunities to expand the use of EDI to reduce cost and improve the customer experience. POSITION REQUIREMENT
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience with either SAP or JDE/Oracle EDI setup and testing. A minimum of 5 years of experience participating in and/or leading cross-functional projects. COMPETENCIES:
Knowledge of lean six sigma principles. Detailed knowledge of the business process within SAP or JDE/Oracle and the association with inbound/outbound EDI data. Use/setup of value-added networks and direct forms of EDI communication. Proficient in MS Office Suite. Superior organizational and multi-tasking skills. Broad knowledge of business processes specifically order-to-cash and/or contracting. Effective communicate skills (verbal and written) with both internal and external technical and non-technical groups including demonstrated presentation and documentation skills. Self-motivated and able to work independently. Ability to mentor, coach and teach others. Ability to lead and influence without formal authority. EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related degree, or equivalent related experience.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Business AnalysisEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
